Situated on the banks of Vembanand Lake, Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is a paradise for bird watchers. Sprawling in an area of 14 acres, the sanctuary is set within the lush acres of wooded land. Kumarakom Sanctuary is not only heaven for local birds but also to large number of migratory birds, which travel for the Himalayas and some even from Siberia.
